A comprehensive eye exam includes more than just determining your need for glasses or contact lenses. At Hamilton Eye Associates, our doctors look at every aspect of the visual system to determine your visual capability, efficiency, and ocular health.
Comprehensive Vision Exams
Why do you need eye exams?
Periodic eye exams are an important part of preventive health care. Many eye and vision problems have no obvious signs or symptoms. As a result, individuals are often unaware that problems exist. Early diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision problems are important for maintaining good vision and eye health, and when possible, preventing vision loss.
How often should you have an eye exam?
Eye exam frequency is dependent upon a few factors such as age, existing eye health, vision quality and systemic health conditions. The doctors at Wells Branch Vision Care recommend the following:
- Children: 6 months -> 3 years -> Start of School -> Every year thereafter
- Adults: Annually
- Seniors over the age of 60: Annually to every six months based on health
Did You Know?
Did you know that each of your eyes has a blind spot? Humans rarely notice the blind spot as the brain fills in the missing gap in vision.
